A Testament to the Past

With its timeless beauty and rich heritage, Seaforth Country House stands as a living testament to the past, reminding us to cherish and preserve our shared history for future generations to come.

The History of Seaforth

Established in 1854, this historical home has witnessed the passing of generations, wonderfully preserving the memories of those who once called it home.

The home itself is steeped in history and was the site of the first school in the area established by Sir Leige Hulett’s father. After his passing in 1889, the school was maintained by his daughters Polly and Sarah, who both remained spinsters.

An old brass bell was uncovered on the property and stands proudly on the mantlepiece in the dining room.

The property was then occupied by various local farming families and the Thompson’s, whose Great Grandfather owned Thompsons Bay, have lived here since 1963.

Determined to keep the property in the family, the B&B has now been taken over by Trevor Thompson’s daughter and son-in-law and this little Piece of Paradise has been recently refurbished with love and respect for the past.
